When I asked the VDH in 2017 if we didn’t want to take over the organization of the FCI DogDancing World Championship , they asked: „DogDancing? Is that a sport?“
I said yes, a wonderful sport in which every dog ​​can show what they are made of.
A sport that places high demands on the dog and owner and leaves endless room for individuality.
They looked skeptical, though
I must have sounded convincing because they gave me free rein to organize the World Championship in Leipzig.
They even watched and obviously they enjoyed it.
DogDancing became an official sport in the VDH.  We athletes benefited from it, we were included in the development of the sport.  When I asked in 2019 if we couldn’t maybe take over the World Championship again, they simply said yes.  The Worlds in Stuttgart was a complete success, with great media interest.
The Vice-President of the VDH, Christa Bremer said after this World Championships that she was excited to see what I would come up with next, oh, I said that an EOC under FCI would definitely be a great thing.
Open to all dogs and to all nations.
She laughed and then she said: why not?
The idea of ​​the EOC was born, but it still took some time because Covid forced us all to give up our competitions.
But today it’s finally time!
I am very happy and also a little proud to open the first FCI EOC.

Als ich 2017  den VDH fragte, ob wir nicht die Organisation  der FCI WM  DogDancing übernehmen  wollten, fragten sie: „DogDancing? Ist das ein Sport?“
Ich sagte,  ja, ein wunderbarer Sport,  in dem jeder Hund  zeigen kann, was in ihm steckt.
Ein Sport der hohe Ansprüche an den Hund  und Halter stellt und unendlich Raum  für Individualität lässt.
Sie schauten  skeptisch, aber
ich muss überzeugend geklungen haben, denn sie ließen  mir freie Hand, die WM in Leipzig zu organisieren.
Sie schauten  sogar zu, und es hat ihnen ganz offensichtlich  gefallen.
DogDancing  wurde offizielle Sport im VDH. Wir Sportler profitierten  davon, wir wurden in die Entwicklung  des Sports mit einbezogen. Als ich 2019 fragte, ob wir nicht  zufällig  noch einmal die WM übernehmen könnten, sagten sie einfach ja.  Die WM in Stuttgart  war ein voller Erfolg, das Interesse der Medien groß.
  Als Vizepräsidentin Christa Bremer nach dieser WM sagte, sie sei gespannt,  was mir als nächstes einfällt, sagte ich, eine EOC unter FCI  sei sicher  eine tolle Sache.
Offen für alle Hunde und für  alle Nationen.
Sie lachte und sagte  dann: Warum eigentlich  nicht?
Die Idee der EOC war geboren, aber es dauerte noch einige Zeit,  denn Covid Zwang uns alle,  auf Wettbewerbe  zu verzichten.
Aber heute ist es endlich soweit!
Ich bin sehr glücklich und  auch ein wenig stolz die erste FCI EOC zu eröffnen.
